01
The device
What wavelengths does Lumé use? −
Lumé emits wavelengths in the 630 to 850nm range — red light that targets the epidermis and dermis to stimulate collagen production and even skin tone, and near-infrared light that penetrates deeper to reduce inflammation and support cellular repair.
What's included in the box? +
Every Lumé order includes the mask, a remote, a USB charging cable, eye protection inserts, a user guide, and adjustable head straps.
How does the device charge? +
Lumé charges via the USB cable included in the box. A full charge takes approximately 2 hours and provides enough power for multiple sessions.
How long do the LEDs last? +
What we can tell you: LED life is measured in thousands of hours, and at ten minutes a day you're using roughly 60 hours a year.
Your mask is covered by a one-year warranty against defects. If it fails in normal use within that year, we replace it.
Does the mask produce heat? +
Lumé produces a very gentle warmth during use — comparable to mild sunlight on your face. Not enough heat to cause discomfort or skin damage.
Does it fit all face sizes? +
Yes. The mask is made from flexible silicone and conforms to a wide range of face shapes and sizes.

How to use
How often should I use Lumé? −
Daily use gives the best results. Consistency matters more than intensity — 10 minutes every morning compounds over time. You can use it once or twice per day.
Should I use it morning or night? +
Either works. Morning sessions tend to energise skin tone for the day. Evening sessions support overnight cellular repair. Choose whichever time you'll actually stick to.
What should my skin look like before I put it on? +
Clean and dry. Remove all makeup, SPF, and product buildup before your session. You don't need a full double cleanse — a gentle wipe-down is enough.
Can I use it with retinol or acids in my routine? +
Yes. Use Lumé on clean skin before applying any actives. Post-treatment skin is in an elevated state of cellular activity, so your actives will absorb more effectively.
Do I need to wear eye protection? +
No. Lumé comes with eye protection inserts — your eyelids are not exposed to direct LED light when you have the eye protection inserts on. The wavelengths are non-UV and non-laser.
Can I do other things while wearing it? +
Yes — that's part of the point. Read, journal, meditate, scroll, make coffee. The mask is hands-free.
03
Results
When will I start seeing results? −
Some users notice a glow within the couple weeks. Significant changes in collagen density, texture, and fine lines typically appear at 4–6 weeks with daily use.
What results should I realistically expect? +
With consistent daily use over 8 weeks: visibly smoother skin texture, reduced redness, improved skin tone, and early signs of increased firmness.
What happens if I stop using it? +
Red light therapy supports your skin's natural processes — it doesn't create dependency. If you stop, your skin simply returns to its baseline rate of collagen production over time.
How does it compare to in-clinic treatments? +
Clinical LED treatments use the same wavelengths. The difference is frequency and cost. A clinic session might run $80–$200; Lumé delivers a clinically meaningful dose daily for a one-time cost.
04
Safety
Is red light therapy safe for all skin tones? −
Yes. Red and near-infrared light therapy is effective and safe across all Fitzpatrick skin types (I through VI). Unlike UV light, it does not cause photodamage or affect melanin production.
Can I use it if I have sensitive skin or rosacea? +
Red light therapy is one of the gentlest treatments available and is often specifically recommended for reactive or sensitive skin.
Is it safe to use during pregnancy? +
There are no studies indicating harm at these wavelengths and power levels. However, we recommend consulting your healthcare provider before use if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
Are there any contraindications? +
Consult a healthcare provider before use if you: are taking photosensitising medications, have a history of skin cancer, have active cold sores or open wounds, or have a light-sensitivity condition.
Can I use too much red light therapy? +
Research suggests there is an optimal dose range — more is not always better. At 10 minutes per day, Lumé delivers a dose within the clinically studied effective range.
